Indianapolis Fire Apparatus Falls into Sinkhole

An Indianapolis Fire Department engine was caught in a sinkhole on its way to a fire Monday night.

The fire engine fell into the sinkhole at Boyd and Finley avenues on its way to a small fire in an unoccupied home in the area, according to an IFD news release.

The hole was about 4 feet by 8 feet, IFD said. While no one was injured, IFD officials were not sure how much damage the sinkhole caused to the fire engine.
