Ila (GA) EMS Station Receiving New Ambulance

The Ila EMS station will soon get a new ambulance. Madison County has a total of seven ambulances at its four EMS stations, with Ila having one ambulance and the vehicle with the most miles, 215,000.

County commissioners agreed June 29 to allow EMS to purchase a 2015 Ford Traumahawk Ambulance for $134,350 for the Ila station. The cost will ultimately be covered by county sales tax funds, though reserve funds will be used initially until enough sales tax funds are collected.

Commissioners noted that they don’t want to have an ambulance breaking down while transporting a patient to the hospital. They agreed 4-0 to replace the high-mileage Ila vehicle with a new ambulance.
