Horton Delivers Two Ambulances to Florida Department

OCALA, FL—The City of Tamarac, located in Broward County, FL, recently took delivery of two custom Horton Ambulances from Hall-Mark Fire Apparatus, Inc.

The City of Tamarac has a population of approximately 61,542 residents in an area of 11.89 square miles. The two ambulances are currently being rotated between the three stations within the City of Tamarac and will also be utilized to service surrounding cities as part of mutual aid agreements.

The custom Horton Ambulances have the following specifications:
•    International 4300 Crew Cab Chassis
•    Custom Horton Model 623 Body, 177”
•    Horton Occupant Protection System (HOPS)
•    MaxCool II Air Conditioner
•    Danhard 110v Air Conditioner
•    Whelen LED Warning Light Package
•    Voyager 4 Camera System
•    Zico OTS Electric O2 Bottle Lift
•    Firecom 5 Position Wireless Intercom
•    Stryker Power Load System

There are many features on the ambulances, such as NFPA standard seatbelt sensors for safety, as well as vertical exhaust systems that keeps exhaust fumes away from firefighters on scene. Another custom feature includes the Stryker Power Load System, which eliminates the need to lift patients into the truck, ultimately resulting in less injury.
