Hopkinton (MA) Fire Department Pumper Destroyed in Overnight Fire

The pumper destroyed in a fire at Bulldog Fire Apparatus early Wednesday morning belongs to the Hopkinton (MA) Fire Department, reports metrowestdailynews.com.

Officials declined to say what the apparatus’ value was, and the department is currently weighing its options to replace it. No injuries were reported.

The fire, which took about 30 minutes to extinguish, occurred in a painting bay of the firefighting gear and rescue vehicle service provider, the report says. Its cause is unknown, though officials believe it was likely caused by an electrical problem in the engine.

It’s unclear how many apparatus were inside Bulldog Fire Apparatus when the fire occurred.
