Holts Summit (MO) Receives Grant for New Equipment

The Holts Summit Fire Protection District (MO) is getting new equipment thanks to matching grant funds from the state.

Across the state, the Missouri Department of Conservation and US Forest Service Volunteer Fire Assistance Program gave out $354,467 to 182 departments this year.

Holts Summit Fire was awarded a total of $3,000. Fire officials said with the funds they were able to purchase fire pagers for department personnel.

Those pagers will be used to notify fire personnel when service is needed. 911 Dispatch activates the pagers and deliver a voice message to the firefighters regarding the location and nature of the 911 call coming in.

Holts Summit Fire Public Information Officer Scott Pasley said the grant award came at just the right time because a recent FCC mandate required the department to replace older paging units.
