Holliston (MA) Receives Ambulance Bids

The Holliston (MA) Fire Department received two bids for a new ambulance, after receiving approval in October for the $190,000 for the purchase.

The bids were submitted by Bulldog Fire and Emergency Apparatus of Hopkinton and Greenwood Emergency Vehicles of North Attleborough.

The department has three ambulances in service, the oldest of which was bought in 2001. The other two ambulances were bought in 2007 and 2010.

Fire Chief Michael Cassidy will now review the bids and compare the two offers. He is looking to buy an ambulance with similar specifications to the one purchased in 2010. He will then make his recommendations to the Board of Selectmen before making a decision.

The department expects to get the new vehicle next summer.
