The Hobart fire department welcomed two 2019 Pierce Manufacturing Inc. Enforcer fire engines costing about $600,000 each, reports The Chicago Tribune.

The new apparatus includes hydraulic extraction equipment so firefighters can respond quicker. The previous equipment required electrical connections. They also offer “clean cabs” and contain a storage unit for contaminated clothing and equipment outside of the seating area.

The city also added a new $275,327 Braun Chief XL ambulance to its fleet, which joined the pumper trucks on display.
