Elkhart (IN) Fire Department New Fire Apparatus for Hazmat Teams

The Elkhart Fire Department is on the cutting edge for hazmat teams after receiving a new rig, reports WSBT 22.

 

It replaces a piece of equipment more than 30 years old. The new rig will respond to incidents beyond city limits.

The cost for the rig is just under $600,000. Funding was provided by both the city and Elkhart County commissioners.
