Grayson Council KY Buys Fire Apparatus

Grayson City Council (KY) has voted to declare a state of emergency in order to forego the formal bidding process in the purchase of a new pumper truck for the fire department.

The emergency declaration was necessary because the department is down to one pumper truck, which means that vehicle may only answer calls within the city limits. Council member Duane Suttles felt that declaring an emergency was necessary to restore coverage to those living outside the city as soon as possible.

The Council approved a 10-year finance agreement for $325,000 at an interest rate of 2.85 percent with Commercial Bank.
