Glendale (KY) Fire Department crews were dispatched around 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, for a vehicle accident on Interstate 65, the department said in a Facebook post.

When a Glendale fire apparatus stopped at the 81 mile marker southbound to check on a vehicle off the roadway, it was struck by a spinning passenger car. The car hit the apparatus’ driver’s side rear corner and again near the front door of the cab.

“Most importantly, all of our firefighters, along with the driver of the car were uninjured,” the department said. “This was a very close call as our crew was preparing to exit the truck when it was hit. Please slow down and drive for the conditions, and watch out for emergency vehicles. Thanks to everyone who reached out to check on our firefighters.”
