Glastonbury Town Council Approves Purchase Of Used Ladder Truck

The Glastonbury town council unanimously approved the $500,000 purchase of a 2008 ladder truck from the Borough of Kittanning in Pennsylvania, which is dealing with some financial issues and has to sell off some of its costly equipment, reports The Courant.

The truck will replace Ladder 31. The ladder truck has 1993 apparatus with a 1979 engine. A department spokesman said that the department “recognized the need to incorporate a second ladder into the community based on the projected growth, especially in the eastern portion of town.”
