Fremont (CA) Fire Station Now in Service

Fremont Fire Station No. 11, located at 47200 Lakeview Blvd., is a $5.1-million facility and the second fire house on the west side of Interstate 880. It was formally opened on Friday.

Paid for through the city’s general fund, Station No. 11 is the first firehouse to serve southern Fremont and brings Fremont Fire Department back to full staffing for the first time since before the economic downturn, said Diane Hendry, the department’s division chief of administration.

Staffed at all times by three firefighters, one of them a paramedic, Station No. 11 is home to a fire engine and the department’s special operations task force hazardous materials vehicle.

The fire house construction was completed in 2011, however, it had not been staffed.
