Forks Township (PA) Supervisors Debate Need for New Fire Apparatus

Forks Townships officials debated Thursday how to replace up to three fire trucks at a cost of nearly $3 million over the next few years.

Forks Fire Chief Bryan Weis told supervisors Thursday that his department needs to replace its 2003 Ford 550 brush mini-pumper fire truck, which has been out of service for the last three months. Weis had previously addressed the board Sept. 3.

Assistant Fire Chief Matt Mowrey said the mini-pumper originally cost the township $180,000 and to replace it today would cost $240,000.
