Firefighters Injured During ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ in Kentucky

Three firefighters were injured while participating in the “ice bucket challenge” on Campbellsville University in Kentucky, according to a news report.

WHAS11 reports (http://bit.ly/1piGbBY) that the injuries occurred when a fire apparatus aerial ladder came in contact with a main power line at the university.

Two firefighters were transported to the hospital while another was treated at the scene, the report said.

The “ice bucket challenge” is a social media craze designed to raise awareness about ALS in which participants dunk themselves with ice water. The challenge has reportedly earned millions for the ALS Association.
