Board members for the Turkey Creek Township Fire Territory listened to updates on equipment repairs and remounting, in addition to remodeling efforts on station one.
In March, Braun Ambulance Company contacted the fire territory about warranty issues that needed addressed in ambulance six. The company located in Van Wert, Ohio, requested the apparatus be brought to their facility March 28, which the territory did.
Syracuse/Turkey Creek Fire Chief Mickey Scott noted Braun estimated they would need the ambulance for much of April to get warranty issues addressed. The department has procured a loaner from Life Star Rescue Inc., the dealership where they purchased the ambulance. Scott stated their insurance does cover the loaner unit.
The department hopes to have ambulance six back within the next week or two.
Scott then told board members since Life Star Rescue is also located in Van Wert, the department went ahead and removed all equipment from truck one, which needs to be remounted. They delivered it to Life Star Rescue March 28, saving time and money with one trip.
The remount is currently in process after International Harvester built the chassis April 8.
Work continues to be completed on station one with all the drywall hung, all telephone service moved to the second floor, stairs completed on the north and south side, all windows on the second floor installed and two furnaces installed on the second floor.
