An Oklahoma City Fire Department command vehicle was involved in a head-on crash with one other vehicle in southwest Oklahoma City Friday morning, news9.com and the fire department reported.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. near SW 59th and Penn.
The driver of the black vehicle was arrested, and is accused of DUI, according to police, the report said.
There was extensive front-end damage to the fire department’s command vehicle, as well as the black vehicle.
The fire crew was responding to a call when the crash happened, according to an Oklahoma City Fire Department post on Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter).
The fire chief who was in the fire truck at the time of the crash was sent to the hospital to be checked out, police said.
