Because of multiple EMS calls occurring at the same time as this fire, normal first-due units were delayed. Realizing there would be a delay, the incident commander ordered a box alarm before any units arrived. Arriving crews initiated a rapid search after discovering a wheelchair lift built on the outside of the structure.
