One of Bazetta Township’s two fire stations is out of service after being damaged by a fire truck.
Fire officials say a rear door of an engine was not latched and struck a supporting column as a crew of three firefighters were leaving for a fire from station number thirteen on McLeary Jacoby Road on Friday.
The truck is still in operation and is being stored at the other fire station on Everett Hull Road.
Fire Chief Dennis Lewis says they have made arrangements to provide fire protection with only one station in service.
No one was injured and damage to the fire station is still being assessed.
