Fire Apparatus Arrives in Albany GA

Albany (GA) Fire Chief James Carswell unveiled the department’s newest aerial truck to the city commission.

The truck, at a price of $997,000, is one of the most expensive pieces of equipment in the city’s fleet. It was paid for using special local option sales tax dollars.

The truck has just come off the line from a Wisconsin plant where it was built, Carswell said.

The new aerial will allow the department to rotate a 1996 aerial truck into reserve status, and sell the 1986 model that is currently in reserve.
