Falmouth (VA) Fire Apparatus Crashes on Fire Call

A Falmouth Volunteer Fire Station (VA) engine crashed in Stafford County Monday morning while en route to a house fire.

There were at least four firefighters on the truck. Three were taken to the hospital to be evaluated, said Chief Mark Lockhart with the Stafford County Fire & Rescue Department.

“I think everyone involved was very fortunate,” the chief said.

The crash happened on a winding downhill stretch of the two-lane road, when the fire engine rolled onto its driver’s side.

The house fire turned out to be a minor incident and was handled by another fire crew, Lockhart said.
