Fall River (MA) Welcomes New Rescue Boat

A motorcycle accident demonstrated to firefighters the new rescue boat was a great addition, reports The Herald News.

The new fire rescue boat has a top speed of 43 miles per hour and is equipped with a wide-mouthed, front bow ramp.

Dual water pumps with different nozzle attachments, one of which is capable of 1,500 gallons of water per minute and there’s also a 60-gallon tank that holds fire-suppression foam.

The price tag was $630,000. The federal grant paid for 75 percent, or $472,500, and the fire department covered the balance of $157,500.
