Environics USA Names COO

Environics USA, which makes CBRN protection products, has promoted Timo Jaakkola to chief operations officer.

Jaakkola, previously the company’s chief technical officer, will report to Hannu Salmi, president of the parent company, Environics OY, which is based in Mikkeli, Finland. Jaakkola will continue to be responsible for technical issues, but he also has responsibility for sales, marketing and operations for Environics USA.

Before moving to the United States, Jaakkola was director of sales for Environics OY and served as an officer in the CBRN Detachment of the European Union Battle Group for a year in 2007-2008.

Environics’ products range from the handheld ChemPro100i TIC and CWA detector to complete country-wide CBRN detection networks.
