An Ellsworth (ME) fire truck was slightly damaged when it hit a pickup truck while responding to a fire call.
The fire truck was responding to a chimney fire that was located on a narrow dirt road. When the driver backed up to align the fire truck with the dirt road, the driver of the pickup truck has also backed up.
But, the driver of the fire truck was unable to see where the pickup truck was located and struck the rear driver’s-side tire of the pickup truck.
Damage to the pickup truck was estimated at $2,000, while damage to the fire truck was estimated at $1,000.
