The Eatontown Borough Council has approved the purchase of a new fire vehicle with the stipulation that the fire department makes an effort toward shared services with neighboring towns for future purchases.
A $850,000 vehicle has been approved with a 5-to-1 vote. The fire department currently has two vehicles that are 23 and 27 years old. Both of which are in need of work. The new truck will replace the two older vehicles.
The fire department would like to purchase a Quint 11-90, a five-function vehicle that includes a pump, water tank, aerial ladder, hose storage and ground ladders.
