E-ONE Invests In N.Y. To Build Stainless Steel Apparatus

E-ONE Inc. has opened a 75,000-square-foot facility in Hamburg, N.Y., to specialize in manufacturing stainless steel apparatus, refurbishment, technical service and support.

E-ONE, which is based in Ocala, Fla., has appointed Bill Savage, a 30-year industry veteran and expert in stainless steel fire apparatus design and manufacturing, as president of the New York facility, which was formerly operated by apparatus builder R.D. Murray Inc. and then used by American LaFrance. Savage, a founder of R.D. Murray, has assembled a highly experienced team to support new and existing E-ONE customers, according to E-ONE.

“We are looking forward to complementing E-ONE’s existing products by providing the industry’s best stainless steel apparatus to customers throughout the nation,” Savage said.

He said members of his team have been manufacturing and refurbishing stainless steel apparatus for more than 20 years.

E-ONE President and CEO Peter Guile said he was thrilled to be able to re-launch the company’s stainless steel product line, as well as offer a refurbishment and service location for dealers and customers in the northeast and Midwest.

“The leadership of Bill Savage at our New York facility combined with his highly-skilled team provides unparalleled expertise and ensures confidence in our ability to build stainless steel apparatus of the highest quality alongside our industry-leading line of aluminum fire apparatus,” Guile said

He noted the Hamburg development comes on the heels of E-ONE’s acquisition of Water Master vacuum tankers, which was announced just over a year ago and furthers the organization’s goals of investing in innovative products and expanding its factory service capabilities.

Since returning to private-ownership in 2008, E-ONE said it had transformed its manufacturing processes to produce the highest quality apparatus in the industry. The company said investments in innovative products have produced 11 new or improved apparatus designs.
