A pickup driver crashed into a Houston fire truck, yelling profanities at the firefighters before running away on foot, officials said.
The crash happened around 4:20 a.m. on the Southwest Freeway frontage road at Hillcroft.
Witnesses said the pickup driver appeared to be racing someone in a car eastbound on Hillcroft. He allegedly ran a red light and then hit the fire truck. The impact was so hard, the pickup lost a wheel and spun into the median.
Witnesses said after the crash, the pickup driver got out and yelled cuss words at the firefighters. The suspect then ran away, police said.
No injuries were reported.
