A ladder truck positioned at an accident scene prevented a box truck from crashing into the area where people were being treated, reports Foster’s Daily Democrat.

There were five Dover fire personnel at the scene aiding the four people who were involved in the initial incident. Dover’s Ladder Truck 3 sustained “significant damage.” Fire officials said the accident is a good reminder that people should move a lane over, if possible, when passing an accident scene.

The truck is scheduled for repair and expected to return to service as soon as possible. The investigation into the incident is continuing, and a cause has yet to be finalized
