DeKalb County (GA) Fire Department Approves Purchase of Two Fire Apparatus

The county commission has approved spending up to $250,000 to buy two fire trucks to replace the homemade trucks which have been in the fleet for several years, reports WJLE.

County officials debated whether now is the appropriate time during the pandemic to spend $250,000 on fire equipment. Ultimately, the decision to do so passed 11-3.

One official proposed using the $250,000 to acquire three fire trucks, placing one fire truck in a district that does not house a fire station.

Another official also wanted to ensure that the ambulance fleet is also being tended to with upgrades.
