Danner is previewing a new line of structural firefighting boots called the Fire King.
Danner, a wholly-owned subsidiary of LaCrosse Footwear, is previewing its first structural firefighting boot, called the Fire King. The company expects the boot to be available early in 2009.
The Fire King joins Danner’s Flashpoint boot, a National Fire Protection Association compliant wildland firefighting boot, and its offering of supportive station boots.
Danner is known in the uniform industry for its high-quality and rugged boots serving the military, police, boarder patrol and other similar organizations.
The new boots feature a proprietary co-branded Danner Vibram Fire & Ice outsole that will ensure a sturdy step in hot and cold environments. Specially developed Fire Zone external lugs are extended by 6 mm for increased slip resistance on pitched rooftop surfaces. The Vibram material fully protects the toe and heel so that crawling will not destroy the boots.
A special material, called SuperFabric, surrounds the foot and is fire, cut, puncture and tear resistant. A Crosstech liner, by W.L. Gore, provides waterproof, breathable protection against blood borne pathogens, according to the maker.
Located in Portland, Ore., Danner designs and manufactures a complete line of innovative, functional and performance footwear for experts in the work and outdoor markets.
