Damaged Mahanoy City (PA) Fire Apparatus Removed

Crews dug out a a burned fire truck from the Washington Hook and Ladder Company in Mahanoy City (PA).

The truck was destroyed and the fire house wrecked by a fire last month.

As crews slowly and carefully maneuvered the truck out, a crowd gathered.

Word spread quickly about the event and there were plenty of people and firefighters taking all kinds of pictures. The loss of the piece of firefighting equipment had emotions running high.

“It’s an incredible sight. I am holding back some tears, it was a beautiful truck, it meant a lot to this fire company,” said Washington Hook & Ladder Company Chief Mike Matunis. “It’s a great loss and my heart is broken right now.”
