Dallas (TX) Fire Apparatus Struck by Car

A Dallas fire truck was hit by a car Monday in southeast Oak Cliff while responding to an emergency call.

The fire truck — with lights and sires on — began moving after waiting for traffic to clear around 1:30 p.m. near the fire station and then the car slammed into the truck’s driver’s side.

“Thankfully, none of the firefighters on board the apparatus were injured, but it was certainly an impact they won’t soon forget,” Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said.

The car’s driver was taken to a hospital. His injuries aren’t considered life threatening.
