Crestwood (MO) officials have approved the purchase of a new fire truck for the Crestwood Fire Department, a portion of which will be paid with a federal grant.

An advisory committee has recommended an engine manufactured by Smeal Fire Apparatus Co. at $511,315. Last year the department received $342,000 from a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant. The city has also accrued roughly $210,000 in previous budgets to finance the purchase.
