Cloverleaf VFD TX Loses Fire Engine in Collision

Four Cloverleaf volunteer firefighters (TX) were injured in an accident that flipped their fire truck.

All four firefighters were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Three of the firefighters were back at work a day later, but they may be without the fire truck be for months.

The fire engine was at an intersection, just a block away from the station, when a pickup truck hit and flipped it.

The engine was one of only two in the small department.

“What if that other one doesn’t start for some reason? Then help would be even further away,” firefighter Placido Rodriguez said. “We depend on Channelview and Sheldon — the smaller departments — to help us, and that’ll just make our response time longer.”
