City of Clay Center (KS) Seeks Fire Apparatus Bids

The City of Clay Center council authorized fire chief John Ihnen to get bids on a pumper fire engine.

Ihnen is considering a 2000 pumper truck currently in Wichita. The city may buy it if they can get if for less that $50,000.

Ihnen said the truck would replace and 1994 truck and gets the city closer to it’s goal of rotating trucks out in an eight-year cycle.
