The city of Boise is poised to buy a 0.65-acre lot a half-mile east of fire Station No. 8 on Overland Road.
For a few years now, the city has contemplated moving Station 8 east to reduce response overlaps with other stations and to improve response times in the general area. Boise voters passed a $17 million bond last month that will pay for that and other fire-related projects.
The City Council is being asked to approve the purchase of the lot and building at 3575 W. Overland Road at its Tuesday meeting. The price: $335,000. The item on the agenda for that meeting identifies the Fire Department as the agency requesting the transaction.
Stoddard Property Investments, a McCall company run by Jeffrey Stoddard, currently owns the property.
