Blue Earth (MN) Fire Apparatus Hit, Firefighter Sent to Hospital

Five people were taken to a MN hospital after a semi crashed into a Blue Earth fire apparatus and a passenger vehicle early Sunday morning on Interstate 90.

The driver of the semi, a 41-year-old Solomon Pio Sagot, was traveling east in Jo Daviess Township, Faribault County, at 2:17 a.m. with passenger 24-year-old Kristen Kaye Eaglestar, State Patrol says.

Around the 117-mile post, on snowy and icy roads, the semi crashed into the two vehicles: the fire apparatus and a 2019 Honda Van, driven by 29-year-old Adam Joseph Beckett.

The driver of the fire truck, 46-year-old Corey Bruce Survis; all three occupants of the van; and Sagot were all taken to the hospital.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
