Belmar’s Goodwill Hose Co. has welcomed a 2018 Seagrave fire truck, reports TAP Into Belmar.

Firefighter training is currently under way while the fire truck has been put into service. Last summer, the borough approved a $525,000 bond ordinance to finance the purchase of the truck.

The new 24-foot-long pumper is equipped with a 750-gallon water tank and has a 1,500-gallon-per-minute pumping capacity. It is replacing a 31-year-old engine truck purchased from the Middletown Fire Department 10 years ago.

The borough’s last purchase of an engine truck was in 2002 and it received a grant in 2008 to acquire Volunteer Hook and Ladder Co.’s ladder truck.
