Belding (MI) Faces Aging Fire Apparatus Fleet

Much of the Belding Fire Department’s equipment, including several vehicles, is rapidly aging, reports The Daily News.

Part of the problem is that oftentimes specific item firefighters need are no longer available for purchase. Other outdated equipment includes 25-year-old extrication equipment and automated external defibrillators (AED) with outdated pads and batteries.

Mayor Brad Miller agreed that something should be done.
