Auburn Fire Department Unveils New Fire Apparatus

The Auburn Fire Department’s new quint fire engine replaces the functions of two older trucks, says Fire Chief Mike VanZile.

The department dedicated its new Quint 24 truck with a ceremony Sunday at Fire Station 1 on the city’s east side. After a blessing by the department chaplain, firefighters and community members pushed the truck into the station, with some assistance needed from the engine, since the truck weighs 49,000 pounds.
