Atlanta (GA) Puts New Equipment on Display

Atlanta (GA) $10 million investment in fire safety was put on display.

At a ceremony in the Turner Field parking lot, the city and Mayor Kasim Reed showcased some of the equipment that’s been purchased in the last year for the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.

Reed said the city has invested $10 million in equipment, including the purchase of nine engines and the replacement of some 13-year-old pieces of equipment.

The department has added 75 new positions in the department and is “very close” to the goal of four firefighters on every truck, the mayor said.
