Appleton Fire Department (WI) to Restore 1925 Fire Apparatus

With the help of the community, the Appleton Fire Department bought a 1925 fire engine from a collector after several months of fundraising.

It actually served in the Appleton Fire Department from 1928 to 1967.

The truck, known as “Old Engine 5,” was bought for $12,000 from a collector.

“The day that it arrived back from the previous owner, it was just a neat day altogether,” said Appleton Fire Chief Len Vander Wyst. “We knew we had a lot of work ahead of us to get to this point and to get to today’s events, and it will be even more exciting once it’s restored.”
