Andover (MA) Fire Apparatus Drops Tank and Spills Diesel on Streets

After a strap that held the fuel tank broke, an Andover fire truck leaked some 40 gallons of diesel fuel onto the streets late Sunday afternoon.

The breakage occurred because the tank dropped, and was dragged for several miles. The driver was unaware, until another motorist called 911.

The department called environmental agencies to report the leak, and it was vacuumed by Coady’s Towing.
