Anderson (SC) Rescue Truck Stolen from Driveway

The chief of the Anderson City Fire Department said his rescue truck was stolen from his driveway.

Chief Dale Horne said the last time he saw the truck was 8:30 p.m. on Monday. He said he woke up the next morning, and the truck was gone.

Horne said he contacted the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office who later interviewed neighbors in the Cloverdale subdivision. One neighbor said they saw suspects in the chief’s yard around 3 a.m.

The chief’s bicycles were found in a neighbor’s yard, and the neighbor told deputies they believed they saw teenagers in the chief’s yard.

More than $50,000 worth of gear was inside the vehicle, including an iPad and rescue gear.
