SumoSprings Applications for Ford Ambulance Chassis

Carpinteria, CA—SuperSprings® International has designed new SumoSprings applications to address the needs of Type III ambulances. The SumoSprings “airless airbags” can be mounted to the front and rear suspensions of the Ford E-Series Cutaway, a platform found in many emergency vehicle fleets.

SumoSprings are manufactured from a proprietary microcellular urethane and bolt directly to the vehicle frame. They fill the gaps left by short factory bump stops, improving ride on rough roads. They are completely maintenance-free and will never sag because of a leak, offering a “fit-it-and-forget-it” solution. SumoSprings can be compressed by 80 percent of their original height with full memory rebound,.

Two new applications—one for the front suspension and one for the rear—were developed for the E-Series Cutaway. The front SumoSprings (P/N SSF-106) fit any E-350 or E-450 Cutaway chassis built from 1996 to the present. The rear SumoSprings (P/N SSR-106) use brackets designed to provide a factory-like fit on 2001 to present models.

Each version is available in different densities designed to suit any need.
