64-Year-Old Woman Killed After Semi-Truck Collides with Ambulance in FL

A 64-year-old woman died Friday night after a semi-truck crashed into the ambulance transporting her to the hospital.

The crash happened just before midnight at the intersection of McGee Road and State Road 39, 10 Tampa Bay reports.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the ambulance was not running in emergency mode at the time and failed to yield at the intersection.

The woman, a Plant City resident, was pronounced dead following the impact. The ambulance driver and a crew member sustained minor injuries, and the truck driver was unharmed.

The crash remains under investigation.
