The Alliance Fire Department is one step closer to replacing one of their dated fire trucks.
The Alliance Rural Fire Protection District Board opened bids for the truck last night.
Fire Chief Troy Shoemaker says they received two bids to manufacture the truck and the board has 60 days to award a bid.
The bids came from Danko Emergency Equipment representing Smeal Fire Apparatus out of Snyder Nebraska, and FYR–TEK out of Gothenburg, Nebraska representing Toyne Fire Apparatus out of Breda, Iowa.
He says both bids were close to the estimated ball-park cost of $366,000.
