Allendale Donates Fire Apparatus to Southern Illinois Education Program

The Allendale (Ill.) Rural Fire Protection District has donated a used fire truck to the Frontier Community College Emergency Preparedness program.

The 1972 Ford pumper truck will be used in the fire science program which offers a two-year associated in applied science degree along with three certificate options. Students of the fire degree and certificate programs receive training in fire scene operations, fire prevention and hazardous materials operations.

“The Allendale Fire Department’s generous donation in support of the Frontier Community College fire science program will improve the training opportunities that the college provides,” said Carrie Dagg, director of the emergency preparedness program. “Allendale has helped to make this training more meaningful and cost effective for the community.”
