The Albertville City Council discussed the purchase of a fire truck.
Purchasing Agent Gary Nunnally said the city could get a truck for $631,000 from a Texas firm with a five-year loan at 2.66 percent.
The city would have to act in the near future to avoid a three percent price increase after July.
Nunnally briefed the council on declaring surplus a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria with 205,000 miles and a 1997 Chevrolet Caprice with 119,500 miles. Both vehicles are being used by the fire department.
