9/11 Fire Apparatus Headed to Fort Know Museum

A fire truck damaged in the September 11 attack on the Pentagon will be part of a new exhibit at Fort Knox’s Patton Museum.

The truck known as Foam 161 will be unveiled on the anniversary of the attacks during a ceremony at the museum. It will be displayed in its damaged condition and will be one of two 9/11 fire trucks on display at a museum.

Fort Knox said the wreckage of the truck served as a flagpole for the first flag flown at the Pentagon after the attack. Three firefighters who served on the truck will attend the ceremony.
