2012 Class A Foam and CAFS Academy Comes to AZ

The
2012 Class A Foam and CAFS Academy, sponsored by Elkhart Brass, Phos-Check/ICL-PPLP and Waterous, will be held February 16-18, 2012 in Glendale, Arizona, at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center

Students attending this 3-day academy can select from 1 of 5 training tracks:

  • Basic (new to foam), 
  • Advanced (users of foam)
  • Administrators/Chiefs
  • Mechanics 
  • Advanced Mechanics (hands on training)

Training will consist of instruction on foam properties, basic proportioner theory, foam concentrates, CAFS theory, maintenance, retrofits, calibration, troubleshooting, specifying foam or CAFS and live burn training. 

Ron Coleman will be the featured keynote speaker. 

During Ron Coleman’s 38 years in the fire service, he served as the Chief Deputy Director at the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, as well as California State Fire Marshal. Previously, he was a fire chief for the Cities of Fullerton and San Clemente, Calif., and was the operations chief for the Costa Mesa Fire Department. He possesses a Master of Arts Degree in Vocational Education from Cal State Long Beach, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Cal State Fullerton and an Associate of Arts Degree in Fire Science from Rancho Santiago College.
